Case Study #1
Imagine a world without waste ReBorn® products are all made in the UK from local waste materials and are ‘circular by design’. This means that they can be recycled at end of life, resulting in lower carbon emissions, less landfill and support for the local economy.
Mission: ReBorn® Homewares aims to transform the sustainability of the global homeware industry by offering stylish, eco-friendly alternatives to products typically made from virgin materials and imported from overseas
Believing in this approach holistically PES were both engaged in this strategy as well as having the ability to account for the carbon saving, primarily due to our EMS 14001 strategy
This in turn results in a product which…

What PES did with ![]()
- As part of the future of the planet electrification is an important direction that PES believe in
- The part DFM considered materials for recycling at end of use and where practicable to use recycled content it was agreed and done
- We designed and manufactured the tool and mould the parts here in the UK at Melksham with process efficient equipment.
Case Study #3
Seaweed forever There are forests below the sea that are very dear to us. Seaweed grows quickly, and needs no freshwater, land or fertiliser. It captures carbon and makes the surrounding waters less acidic.
Beyond this, seaweed is abundantly available and has near-magical material properties. In the quest to heal our ecosystems and food chains from the waste of plastic packaging, it is the perfect companion species and an integral partner to our solutions.
A better way to scoop biodegradable ice cream spoons made from seaweed Most ice cream spoons come with a problem. Plastic spoons – now banned under the Single Use Plastic Directive – pollute for centuries. Wooden or bamboo spoons leave a bad taste. Even many so-called biodegradable spoons contain hidden plastics or toxic coatings.
Notpla’s seaweed-based compostable spoons are different – designed to disappear naturally, with no plastic, no PFAS, and no compromise on performance. Our patented technology means you can now have strong, smooth, and completely plastic-free cutlery that doesn’t splinter or go soggy.
What PES did with ![]()
- When industry bodies turn their back on moulding seaweed, PES welcomed the concept.
- Working with Notpla formulation team and our in-house moulding subject matter experts with the backing of IUK, PES were able to invent the process to mould through many DoE trials and formulation changes.
- PES tooled and mould the ice cream spoons.

Innovation, Quality and Assurance: To ensure every sample is collected and transported in its optimum condition, enabling the most accurate and reliable results; because results matter.
With over 7 decades of history, innovation and product knowledge and customer support, mwe has been leading the pre-analytics market with UK manufactured swabs, specimen collection media and lab consumables, mwe is an established organisation with a global presence in over 120 countries..
PES delivered the 48-im cap and vial product from concept to production volume. With stringent quality checks to ensure all products made for mwe meet the necessary quality and safety requirements. Ramping the initial volumes of 250k per week to 1,500k per week, this was done by introducing a 24/7 manufacturing strategy in order to facilitate the production needs.
This entire process was successfully implemented in record time (10 weeks) to help mwe scale up in a very short timeframe. This allowed mwe to supply the NHS with sample collection kits during the COVID outbreak. Not only was it done at breakneck speed, but it has also become the gold standard.
