About Plastic Engineering Solutions Ltd (PES)
Plastic Engineering Solutions Ltd (PES) is a leading, single-source UK provider of bespoke plastic injection moulding, precision tooling management, and end-to-end product development solutions. Based in Melksham, Wiltshire, we combine decades of technical engineering excellence with advanced manufacturing infrastructure to support clients from initial concept design through to high-volume, automated series production.
We partner with a diverse global clientele across heavily regulated and high-reliability sectors, including medical and healthcare, automotive, industrial electronics, construction, and sustainable consumer packaging.
Core Manufacturing & Engineering Capabilities
Our operations are optimized to handle complex, technical plastic engineering challenges by matching part geometry with the perfect production framework:
Injection Moulding Fleet: We operate a modern, versatile fleet of injection moulding presses ranging from 35-tonne to 350-tonne clamp force, enabling the production of both micro-tolerance precision components and large, heavy-walled structural parts.
Scalable Volume Capacity: Our manufacturing infrastructure offers complete scalability. We provide low-volume pilot runs, prototyping, and pre-production builds to de-risk launches, alongside high-efficiency series production capable of supplying up to 4,000,000 precision parts per week.
Comprehensive Tooling Lifecycle Management: We manage the entire tooling process through our in-house UK toolroom and validated offshore partners. This includes initial specification, tool design, modifications, routine maintenance, and seamlessly executing existing tool transfers from underperforming suppliers.
Value-Added Product Integration: Beyond moulding, we offer advanced assembly, multi-component product integration, printing, ultrasonic welding, and specialized packaging to deliver retail-ready products.
Advanced Materials Expertise & Sustainability
A key differentiator for PES is our deep integration of materials science into the manufacturing process. We process an exceptionally wide range of thermoplastics, including commodity grades, glass-fibre filled polymers, flame-retardant materials, and specialized engineering resins.
Industry Leaders in Sustainable Bio-Polymers
We operate under a strict ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System. Beyond traditional oil-based plastics, we actively partner with innovators to develop, test, and mould next-generation, plant-based materials and biodegradable bio-polymers. Our Design for Manufacture (DFM) reviews explicitly focus on minimizing environmental impact, maximizing recycled content, and designing components for easy end-of-life recycling.
Renewable Manufacturing Infrastructure
We are committed to driving down the carbon footprint of our manufacturing process. Our Melksham facility features a 150kWp Solar PV system, allowing us to generate up to 23% of our annual operational energy directly from on-site renewable sources.
Uncompromising Quality Systems & Compliance
At PES, quality is integrated into every phase of the project lifecycle through strict variation reduction and process control:
ISO 9001:2015 Certified: Our entire facility operates under a robust quality management framework focused on complete traceability and continuous improvement.
ISO 13485 Medical Transition: We are actively finalizing our transition to ISO 13485 certification. We are expanding our footprint to include a dedicated clean-room environment optimized for medical device manufacturing and regulated healthcare component production.
Full Technical Documentation: We support stringent regulatory audits by providing comprehensive material batch traceability, dimensional inspection reports, and full PPAP-style (Production Part Approval Process) validation files.
