Strategic Business Acquisition

- Although a demanding period for business, PES was acquired, not only expanding the Moulding Capability but also introducing new clients in industry sectors such as Construction and Electronics.
- The PES name was adopted through the acquisition.

Investing in People & Equipment
- New Negri Bossi machines purchased.
- Further moulding specialists and operators employed, and the training matrix further developed.
- 2014 – Moulder to PIA award winner in 2014.
- Recognised as Partners for Growth in 2015 – Automotive Sector.
2015
Fluid Transfer Industry Sector Targeted
- Ian Berg Plastics Ltd was bought in 2015, specifically targeting the fluid transfer Industry.
- ISO 9001:2015 QMS
2016
Investing in Capital Equipment for Improved Efficiency
- MRP/ERP system introduced.
- Centralised material handling system.
- More conveyors and introduction of Robots.
- Gained access to the lighting business sector.
2017 to 2019
Onshored Industrial Medical Project
- 2017 – Onshored by retooling, injection moulding and setting up validation protocols for vials and caps for transwabs and virocult used in microbiology to detect microorganisms, bacteria and viruses.
- Continued to invest in injection moulding machines through Arburg whilst developing and increasing staff.
2020 to 2021
In support of the Pandemic
- PES as a supply chain partner for the microbiology company geared towards moulding and automation to supply vials and caps to be combined with transport media, packed and sterilised to be used as the ‘Gold Standard’ products for PCR testing for the Corona Virus.
2021
Environmental Accreditation
- ISO 14001:2015 EMS achieved.
- Managed to increase production of vials and caps tenfold to meet the demand of the Government and was acknowledged by the Secretary of State for the Department of Health and Social Care.
2022
Exploring carbon reduction projects in combination with manufacturing efficiencies
- Implemented power usage analysis tools and power reduction strategies. Introduced MES, providing real OEE to understand actual plant efficiency.
- Where can PES help with greener industry solutions? – Electric vehicle charging units, electric motorbikes, biodegradable plastics, promotion of recycling, and multi-use soap containers.
2023
Employees’ Ownership Trust.
- The employees acquire a controlling share of the company through an EOT scheme.
2024
The circular economy for Plastics
- PES dig deeper into its sustainability responsibility
- Working on programs with an emphasis on the reuse of recycled plastics.
- Exploring and developing the ability to mould sustainable products from seaweed.
2025
PES securing the future
- PES buy existing and new premises, safeguarding real estate and the business.
- PES onboarded to Innovate UK on their scaleup program.
2026 and beyond…
A greener future for PES
- PES has expanded its solar array from 50kW to 200kW.
- A plan is in place to introduce ISO13485:2016 for medical devices and a Class 7 cleanroom.
